Obituary

After a courageous battle with cancer, Michelle Militello left this world from the comfort of her home on August 24, 2017.

Michelle was born in Cobourge, Ontario, and came to the United States as a young child. She spent her childhood in Michigan, graduating from Evart High School in 1976. After high school, she had two children, Kevin and Madeleine, who she adored more than life itself. Later she moved to Box Elder, SD, where she met the love of her life, Richard Engleman. She found her passion in cosmetology where she would become an instructor; sharing her knowledge and helping others find their passion as well.

Michelle lived her life with compassion, caring for everyone that she met and never hesitating to go the extra mile for someone in need. She loved her family and always put their needs before her own. She put great emphasis on teaching her children and grandchildren to care for others and to always do the right thing. Michelle would be the first person there to support someone in their dreams and aspirations but would not hesitate to tell you if she thought you were not living up to your potential.

Michelle leaves behind son, Kevin, and daughter-in-law, Bridget; daughter, Madeleine, and son-in-law, Richard; along with her five granddaughters, Mikayla, Lily, Elizabeth, Kaydence, and Aubrey. Michelle also leaves behind 7 brothers and sisters, Gloria (Bill), Jerre (Danny), Kirk (Laurie), Kevin (Robin), Tim (Marcia), Craig (Shelly), and Kissy all of Michigan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that have become family.

With her passing she joins the love of her life, Richard Engleman; step-son, Bryce Engleman; as well as her mother and father, Eileen and Edmund Gostlin.

Services will be held in her home at 319 Spruce Dr., Box Elder, SD. There will be a viewing on Sunday, August 27th at 5:00 p.m. A gathering will follow on Monday August 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.

While cancer may have taken Michelle's life, it has never broken her spirit. "When I die, I know it will be a bitter sweet, and I am good with that."
