Mildred Grace Erickson, 86, Sturgis, and formerly of Winner, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral chapel on Monday.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008, at the Mason Funeral Home in Winner with Pastor Tim Voigt officiating. Burial follows at the Winner Cemetery.

Mildred was born August 6, 1922 at Millboro, SD, to Thomas and Adeline (Woolf) Vawser. The family later moved to Winner where Mildred attended school.

She married Albert Miller in 1938. The couple had two children, Lee Roy and Mary Jane. Mildred also provided child care for small children.

She married Reuben Wentz in 1951 and the couple lived in Winner.

She married Harold Erickson in 1969 and they lived in Winner where Mildred was employed as a clerk at a local variety store.

Mildred moved from Golden Prairie Manor in Winner to Sturgis in August of 2008 to be near her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jane (Chuck) Lutz, Sturgis, SD; two brothers, Virgil (Violet) Vawser, Winner, Walter Vawser, Venice, CA; two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Lee Roy, her husbands, 6 brothers, and two sisters.
