Millard M. Braden, 75, of Rochford died on December 23, 2012, in Arizona while visiting family and friends. He was born June 16, 1937, to Milford and Helen Braden in Miller, SD. Millard grew up in Sturgis and married Edna Mae Dunn in 1963 in Deadwood. Millard loved the Black Hills and spent many years working in the forestry/lumber industry. He enjoyed hunting, riding his ATV, spending time on the Mickelson Trail, working on his cabin, watching FOX news, and traveling/spending time with family and friends. Millard had worked for Experience Works in retirement in Spearfish and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gordon, NE.
Millard is survived by his sister, Marianne Gregerick (Paul) of FL; son, Glenn Braden (Cynita) of CO; daughter, Natalie Braden of CA; niece, Michele Gregerick of FL; granddaughters, Leah, Hannah, Riley, and Emily Braden of CO; a very special and wonderful friend, Lou of NE, along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Millard is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. Burial will follow at the Bell Park Cemetery near Rochford.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Memorials have been established to the Rochford Community Hall and the Rochford Volunteer Fire Department.
