Mollie Marie Pauley, 94, Sturgis, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.
Mollie was born March 29, 1914 in Russia to John William and Ann Elizabeth (Adams) Pauley.
She immigrated to the United States in 1928 with her parents. She attended school and worked on the family farm where they grew sugar beets.
Mollie married Jona Pauley on January 20, 1933 at Bridgeport, NE.
The couple lived in Scottsbluff, NE, for a year before moving to Vale, SD, where they farmed until 1935 when they returned to Scottsbluff. They moved back to Vale in 1940 and Mollie worked at the Sturgis Hospital where she was head of laundry and housekeeping for 15 years. She retired in 1976. Mollie enjoyed cooking ethnic German recipes for family and friends.
Mollie was a member of the First Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Sturgis Hospital Auxiliary and the Meade County Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include her son Dale Eugene (Charlotte) Pauley, Claremore, OK, two granddaughters, Trudee (Bill) Coughlin, Evergreen, CO, Wendee (Rod) Henry, Claremore, OK; great grandchildren, Taylor Coughlin, Boulder, CO, Kara Coughlin, Evergreen, CO, Zachary Henry, Ashley Henry, both of Claremore, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany and the United States.
Mollie was preceded in death by her husband Jona in 1992; 2 sons, Jona James and William "Billy"; one daughter, Jennifer Carol; one brother William and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday April 26, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Sturgis with Pastor Roger Crowhurst officiating. Burial will be at the Vale Cemetery.
