Morris M. Hafner, 89, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Dorsett Healthcare Center, Spearfish, SD. He was born April 19, 1922 in Newell, SD to Matt and Rose Simmons Hafner.

Morris was an electrician and worked many years in this profession. He enjoyed carpentry and was very good at woodworking.

Morris served in the United States Army from November 5, 1942 through March 11, 1945 as 2nd Lieutenant.

He is survived by his daughter, Michela Hafner, daughter-in-law, Shirley Hafner, brother, Don Hafner, sister-in-law, Jane Anderson, sister-in-law, Marge Hafner and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Ann Hafner, son Matt Hafner, two brothers, Vern and Woodrow Hafner and his sister Inez Hafner.

A graveside funeral service will take place Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to leaving for the cemetery at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Family and friends are encouraged to meet at the funeral chapel and travel to the cemetery in the processional.
