Nedra was born February 28, 1926, in Sturgis, SD, to Ruth V. Sisk Arney and Milo Arney. Her father was a soldier at the Ft. Meade Calvary Post in Sturgis where Nedra grew up and went to school. She married Earl C. Grimes on January 1, 1943, having three sons, and later married Everett E. Ingersoll on March 15, 1966, having one son.

Nedra left Sturgis and was an active business woman in North Dakota and Iowa before returning to South Dakota in 1988 living in Newell, Sturgis, and Spearfish. She volunteered and worked as a soldier in the Salvation Army.

Nedra Delores "Dory" Arney Grimes Ingersoll, 89, Spearfish, died, Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the David M. Dorsett Heathcare Facility in Spearfish.

Nedra is survived by her three sons, Larry P. Ingersoll, Spearfish, Gary (Diana) Grimes, Ankeny, IA, and Jerry (Kathy) Grimes, Johnstone, IA; one daughter-in-law, Charla Grimes, Woodward, IA; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Milton (Faye) Collins, Newell, Ronald (Wendy) Collins, Whitewood, and Lloyd E. "Gene" (Georgia) Collins, Spearfish; and one sister, Patricia (Jerry) Austin, White Owl, and their families.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; her son, Larry L. Grimes; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

A Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

A memorial has been established to Northern Hills Salvation Army or the David M. Dorsett Healthcare.
