Neil Ryan Fanning, 35, of Sturgis, passed away at home on September 2nd, 2022.

Neil was born on August 22, 1987, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Steve and Ann Fanning.  He was the second oldest of four children Cole Fanning, Marie Fanning, and Danielle Fanning.

He was the beloved soulmate to Heather Mckee, and stepfather to his three sons, Magnus, Haakon, and Archer.

Neil was a close friend to many, and an incredibly kind and caring person. He was the funniest person you could meet. He was accepting, and open minded towards everyone.

He was a passionate musician and loved all kinds of music. He was a daring skateboarder, loved hiking, camping, hackysack, playing darts, and loved the outdoors and the Black Hills of South Dakota.  He loved South Park and Tim and Erik. He loved to collect anything from old bottles to antiques and oddities.

Neil is survived by his parents; Steve and Ann Fanning; brothers, Will Damon, and Cole Fanning; sisters, Marie, and Danielle Fanning; nieces, Brylie Bestgen, and Annalisa Fanning.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Fanning; and grandfather, Keith Tidball, and grandmother, Lucille Tidball; aunt, Cindy Mercer.

He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
