Neil Leslie Fox was born May 25, 1951, to Delmont "Del" and Evelyn Mae (Stoda) Fox in Deadwood. He grew up in the Lead - Deadwood area and graduated from Lead High School in 1969. After graduating from high school, he joined the National Guards and in 1979 he joined the US Army, from which he retired in 1992. Neil had a variety of jobs over the years working at Homestake, his family's grocery store in Lead, Department of Corrections in Georgia, and Walmart in Rapid City.

Neil, 65, passed away at his home on August 12, 2016, after several years of declining health.

Neil is survived by his long-time companion, Virginia Jensen, Sturgis; sister, Launa and Steve Mason, Lead; daughter, Nicole Fox and her fiancé, John McCoy, Belle Fourche; grandsons, Justis Quenzer, Hunter Quenzer, and Thomas McCoy III; niece, Melissa (Joel) Coolley; nephews, Garrett Fox, Christopher Fox, and Shawn Mason; great-nieces, Kimber Mae Cooley and Giuliana Holsinger.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gale and Lynn Fox.

At Neil's request, a private family burial will be held at a later date.
