Nicholas Asa
Bueno
Jun 24, 1978 — Mar 6, 2021
Fort Laudedale
Nicholas Asa Bueno was born on June 24, 1978 in Poway, CA. In 1983 he moved to Whitewood, South Dakota with his mother, father, and sister. Nik attended elementary school in Whitewood and middle and high school as a Sturgis Scooper. He devoted most of his time maintaining his academic achievements. When he wasn't ensuring his straight A's, he was upholding his passion for exercise and computer skills. In 1994 he moved to Sturgis to live with friends.
Nik graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1996 and a few short months later he moved to Salem, Oregon where he knew he was always meant to be. He attended Chemeketa College and graduated with the Class of 2001 with a degree in micro industrial electronics. Following graduation, he pursued a career at Intel as a software engineer. In 2008 he sold his house and moved back to South Dakota to be closer to family.
He devoted most of his time to creating memories with his family and enjoying the time he had with his childhood friends. When he fell on hard times, he made the tough decision to move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2015 in search of work and a place to settle down for the time being. After working small side jobs, he landed himself a long-term job he very much enjoyed as a marine electro-mechanical engineer in 2019.
Nik spent the last couple of years creating a life for himself and pursing his dreams in Florida. Nick passed away at his home in Fort Lauderdale on March 6, 2021 at the age of 42.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Bueno; grandparents, James and Shirley Burling; mother, Jody Bueno; and cousin, Jerry Bertalot.
Nik is survived by his grandmother, Eva Bueno; father, Michael Bueno; sister, Nadine (Dean) Remer; nieces, Tailer (Dylan) Nelson, Carlee Remer, and Erin Remer; nephews, Chance Bueno, Gage (Reece) Remer; uncles, Herman (Mary Ellen) Bueno, Ed (Faye) Bueno; aunts, Kathy Liddiard and Donna (Dale) Long; and many loving cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
