IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nicholas Lord
Jackson, Jr.
October 24, 2003 – January 10, 2026
Nicholas Lord Jackson Jr., age 22, unexpectedly passed away on January 10, 2026, in Hill City, South Dakota. His passing was sudden and deeply heartbreaking, leaving behind a silence that can never truly be filled.
Born on October 24, 2003, and raised in Fallon, Nevada—a place that shaped his spirit and where he left behind an immeasurable amount of love.
Nicholas is survived by his father, Nicholas Jackson, and his sister, Brittany Dubois, along with 4 nieces, Hannah, Brookelyn, Saiylor, Suzie; 2 nephews, Greysens, and Rayden; and countless friends who were never “just friends,” but family in every sense of the word. Nicholas had the rare gift of making people feel seen, chosen, and loved. Whether in Nevada or after moving to South Dakota, he built deep, meaningful connections everywhere he went. The amount of love surrounding him now is a reflection of the life he lived—wide open, genuine, and full of heart.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurie Jo Jurad-Jackson, whom he loved deeply and carried with him always. There is comfort in knowing they are together again, though the ache of missing him remains overwhelming for those still here.
He was truly one of a kind. The best son, brother, and uncle anyone could ask for. Nicholas was hilarious, loyal to his core, and a true ride-or-die soul. He carried more hardship than most his age, yet he chose strength and kindness again and again. He found joy in making others laugh, lifting people up, and being there—no matter what.
Nicholas loved the outdoors: fishing, hiking, and mobbing the desert with beautiful sunsets in Nevada or cruising the winding hills of South Dakota music blasting, wind in his hair, surrounded by friends. He loved good food, great music, and most of all, his people. His friends were his world, and he showed up for them with a fierce loyalty and an open heart. He lived loudly, loved deeply, and left a mark that cannot be erased.
Though his time here was far too short, Nicholas’s impact was enormous. He will be remembered for his humor, his warmth, his resilience, and the way he made life brighter just by being in it. His spirit lives on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every memory held close.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday Jan. 18th at noon at Bob’s Silver Star in Lead, South Dakota.
A Service and Celebration of Life will also take place in Fallon, Nevada at a later date; details will be shared once finalized.
Nicholas will forever be loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
