Obituary

Nicholas Dean Vinson, 24, Deadwood, passed away on July 25, 2015, in Deadwood, SD.

Nicholas was born in Missoula, MT, to his parents, Lynette Anderson and Jim Vinson. At 3 weeks old, the family moved to Sturgis, SD, where Nick grew up and attended grade school along with his younger sister, Madison Vinson Bales. In 2009, Nick graduated from high school in Miles City, MT, and attended Dickinson State College. Later, Nick returned to Sturgis, eventually moving to Deadwood, SD, working at The Gem Steakhouse. Nick enjoyed cooking and was looking forward to moving to Seattle to attend the Art Institute Culinary School next month. Nick loved the sport of baseball and enjoyed cheering on his favorite team, the Seattle Mariners. He enjoyed acting and participated in the Deadwood Alive Gun Slingers Reenactment team. Nick is remembered as an extremely loving and caring person. He always had the ability to make others laugh and find the humor in every situation. His smile was infectious and radiated warmth to anyone who received it. Nick took very little in life serious and lived his short life the same way. He was blessed with the ability to make others feel better just with a warm hug.

May this be his legacy to others.

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Jim Vinson (Pam), Sturgis mother, Lynette Anderson (Todd), Billings, MT sisters, Madison Bales (Steven), Rose Barracks, Germany, Kayela DeLong, Sturgis, Avery Anderson, Billings, MT, and Kayla Biers, Denver, CO brothers, Chris Vinson, Dickinson, ND, Jake Vinson, Sturgis, Josh Vinson, Sturgis, Weston Anderson, Billings, MT, Travis Biers, Piedmont, and Austin Biers, Sturgis stepmother, Raye Ann DeLong, Whitewood nephew, Gavin DeLong, Sturgis grandparents; great-grandmother; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
