Nina Sprague, 59, of Newell, died Saturday, May 2nd, 2009, at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital. She was born October 4, 1949, to Robert and Dena (Hubbard) Donahey in Vale, SD. She was united in marriage to Gary Sprague on May 22, 1971. Nina had a love for the outdoors and a wonderful passion for gardening as well as being an avid sports fan.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; one sister, Mona Peters of Rapid City; one brother, Gary (Connie) of Newell; four children, Letha (Roger) Pettera of Wilton WI, Amy (Dave) McCarthy of Tomah, WI, Toby Sprague of Minneapolis MN, and Shelly (Matt) Ruder of Albuquerque, NM; 4 grandchildren, Skyler McCarthy, Madison McCarthy, Derek Limpert, and LeeAnna Pettera; mother in law, Lorraine Sprague, Newell.

She was proceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dena Donahey, and her father-in-law, Hersil Sprague.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Newell Evangelical Church with Pastor Tom Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Hope Cemetery in Newell.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis from 4-8 Wednesday evening, May 6, 2009.

A memorial has been established to a Newell High School Athletic Fund.
