Obituary

Rapid City | Nola Jane Bentz-Reber, 86, died August 4, 2014. Nola was born on a farm south of Burke, on February 27, 1928, to Alex and Vera Bauld. Two years later, the family moved to a farm north of Herrick, where she grew to womanhood. Nola married Don Bentz on March 28, 1944 in Winner and then Don enlisted in the Merchant Marines, and then the Navy. Nola saved her allotment checks and started an Army Navy store in Herrick. Nola wore many hats and was always very active in church, Canyon Lake Senior Center, Tops, Stroke Support Group, and St. Onge B-day Club. Her family and friends were her life. She loved flower arranging, organ music, and was always dressed to a tea. She would always say, "If life deals you a lemon, make lemonade", and she definitely did... she will be greatly missed. She was blessed with seven children, Curtis (Karen), Nemo, Duane, Cindy (Tom), RC, George, Susie, Bobby, and Bill (Vikki), AZ; grandchildren, Dee Anne, Kim, Teresa, Scott, Brittany, Dan, James, Patty, Steven, Chris, Donnie, Robert, Brandy, and April; great grandchildren, Taylor, Sydney, Ashley, Abigail, Shane, Derek, DJ, Rhiannon, James, Kasey, Krista, Tate, Talon, Trinity, Triston, Trenton, Nathaniel, Bobby, Wyatt, Alayna, and Liam; and great-great grandchildren, Aiden and Kayleigh. Survivors include, Curtis and family, Cindy and family, George, and Bill and family. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Don Bentz and Lyle Reber; parents; sisters, Inez and Patricia; brother, Clinton; sons, Duane and Bobby. Memorials may be made to Black Hills Works. Visitation from 10am - 11am, services at 11am August 12, 2014 at St. Onge United Church of Christ with Brian Aspen officiating. Burial will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
