Sturgis ~ Nola Mae Scott, 84, Sturgis, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Nola Mae Harmon was born in Nimmons, AR in 1928. She married the late Joseph W. Hill in 1946 and moved to Memphis, TN following the birth of their first child. It was there that she raised her children and lived most of her life. She was always active in her church and a dear friend to all who knew her. In 2003 she followed her daughter's move to the Black Hills of SD, making new friends and touching more lives. Nola loved her church, gardening and poetry. Her Children and grandchildren will hold close to their heart, many memories of strolling through gardens and planting flowers with her. She was as beautiful inside and out as the flowers she grew. Survivors include two sons, Jeff F. Hill, Waggoner, Ok and Lee Hill, Collierville, TN; a daughter, Jo Ellen Hill-McCuan, Sturgis, SD; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a brother and a grandchild. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church in Sturgis. Graveside Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Bear Butte Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
