Norma Mildred Cammack, 80, Black Hawk, died Sunday, November 20, 2011, at her home in Black Hawk.
Visitation will be noon until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Black Hawk Community Church with Pastor Ken Fairbrothers officiating. Burial will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
Norma was born October 26, 1931, at Peru, NE, to Joseph and Mildred (Cook) Prather. She grew up on her parent's farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. She was fond of horses and was involved in 4-H. She graduated from high school in Stella, NE, in 1949. Following graduation she worked various jobs.
On February 14, 1956, she married Jesse Lee at Rockport, MO. They lived in Tarkio, MO, for several years and Norma worked at a motel.
Following the death of her husband, she married Darrel Cammack at Hiawatha, KS, on September 21, 1969. They moved to Cozad, NE, and later to Fort Calhoun, NE. Norma started her career as an independent carrier for newspapers.
The family moved to Black Hawk in 1972 and Norma continued to work as an independent contract carrier for the Rapid City Journal. She delivered papers from Rapid City to Tilford until May of 2003.
Norma enjoyed reading, crocheting and needle point and was a member of the Black Hills Treasure Club. She called bingo at the Family Thrift Store and delivered a lot of papers over the years.
Survivors include her son, Joe (Tina) Lee, Sand Springs, OK; two daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Manke, Philip, SD, and Virginia Cammack, Black Hawk; one sister, Ruth Margaret (Wayne) Luginbill, Verdon, NE; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, one brother, one sister, and one granddaughter.
A memorial has been established.
