Norma Lee was born June 7, 1932, to Frank and Elna Newman on the Mossburger homestead in Crook County, WY. She was home schooled her early years and then attended elementary school through high school in Lead and Deadwood, SD.
Norma worked as a telephone operator in Chamberlain and Belle Fourche, SD.
Norma later married LeRoy Clarkson in Denver, CO, and they resided in Belle Fourche, SD. Norma and LeRoy enjoyed traveling to many foreign destinations. Two of her favorite hobbies were photography and sketching. She loved time spent at the cabin in Spearfish Canyon. She enjoyed her pets and many fun filled hours with nieces and nephews. Norma Lee had a great love for music. She was known for her generosity and helpful spirit.
Norma Lee Newman, Rapid City, age 83, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015, in Rapid City, SD.
Norma is survived by her sister, Elna Jean Truman, and her brother, Leonard "Peanuts" Newman, both of Rapid City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Clair "Chuck" Newman, George "Rusty" Newman, Howard E. Newman, and Raymond Newman.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Dove Christian Center in Rapid City with Pastor Tim Coats officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sundance, WY.
She will forever be loved and remembered by all for her loving and giving spirit.
