Obituary

Norman Alvin Ladson, 75, Spearfish, died Friday December 21, 2007 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Norman was born March 15, 1932 at Bucyrus, North Dakota. He graduated from High School in Bucyrus and was drafted into the US Army. He served his country honorably overseas in Korea. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home and moved to Spearfish, SD, where he worked at the Tinton Mine and farmed and ranched in Wyoming. He started driving trucks in 1953 with a company in Belle Fourche.

He married Beverly Steele in 1956. He moved to Billings in 1958 and drove trucks for Lloyd Richards another 8 years before returning to Spearfish.

He married Linda Bell in 1967. He continued to drive throughout his career and lived in Billings, MT, and Valdez, AK, before retiring.

He built a home in Houston, AK, before retiring in 1985, and lived there until 1990 when he moved to Reeder, ND. He moved to Forsythe, MT after his mother's death and returned to Spearfish in 1999. He lived near Newell for a few years before returning to Spearfish.

Norman was a member of the Teamsters Union, the Moose Lodge, Eagles, and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Tracy, one brother, Jerry, three sisters, Lorraine, Zola, Caroline and one great grandson, Jonathon.

Visitation will be 8 am to time of services on Thursday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Committal services will be 11:00 a.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Burial with military honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard.
