Norman Eugene Halbmaier was born January 19, 1966, in Rapid City, SD, to Donald "Buddy" and Darlene (Burk) Halbmaier. He lived his entire life on the land his father purchased in the early 1950's east of Vale, SD, in the family farmhouse, going away to AMI school in Florida after graduating from Newell High School, and various times when he went away for work, always returning to Vale.
Norman "Stormin Norman," 51, passed away peacefully at his home in Vale on February 15, 2017.
He is survived by one daughter, Keyo Martha Grae Halbmaier, Sturgis (recently moved to Pueblo, Colorado); one brother, Doug and Rolene Halbmaier, Vale (Aladdin, Wyoming); and his aunts, Phyllis Mailloux, Sturgis, Marian Young, Rose Tax, Rapid City; Alice and Duane Queen, Sundance, WY; Katherine Glaze, Florida; three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death as a child by his mother, Darlene; his father, Buddy; his grandfather, William; and his grandmother, Martha, whom he was very close to.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Believers Fellowship church in Sturgis with Pastor Gerold F. Meadows Jr. officiating. He will be inurned at Bear Butte Cemetery.
