Norman Carl Lee, 81, Sturgis, died in Spearfish on Saturday, June 20, 2009.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Herbert Cleveland officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Hope Cemetery in Newell.

Norman was born at Sturgis, SD, on June 23, 1927, to Carl and Agnes E. (Johnson) Lee. He grew up near Stoneville where he attended school. Norman worked several years at the Fort Meade Veterans Hospital in occupational therapy, for the fire department, and in the Fort Meade greenhouse. He was also active as a Little League coach. After he retired from Fort Meade, he owned and operated a care home for Veterans at Newell, SD.

He is survived by his son, Greg (Jacque) Lee of Lincoln, NE; two daughters, Pam (Alan) Williams of Sturgis and Deb Johnston of Justin, TX; one sister, Evelyn Philipsen of Sturgis; and seven grandchildren, Megan, Kelli, Adeson, Sarah, Chris, Greg and Chris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; one, son, Dan; three brothers; and two sisters.
