Pamela “Pam” Jeanne Woods (Barton), age 75, passed away on April 30, 2026, in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Pam was born on November 17, 1950, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She carried her roots with her throughout her life, even as she built a successful career as a business owner in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Pam was known not only for her strong work ethic, but for her vibrant personality and the joy she brought to those around her.

She had a creative spirit and found happiness in crocheting, often sharing her handmade creations with family and friends. Pam also had a special love for exotic birds, a passion that reflected her appreciation for beauty and uniqueness. Above all, she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to make people laugh, even in the most ordinary moments.

Pam is survived by her stepfather, Delvin Steever; her sisters, Kim Barton of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Kelly Starr of Billings, Montana; her son, Derek Hilton; and her niece, Andra Starr of Billings, Montana. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Monument Sturgis Care Facility for the compassion, kindness, and dedicated care they provided Pam in the remaining years of her life.

Pam’s warmth, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of those she touched forever.
