IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Mae
Pletan
July 22, 1947 – August 4, 2022
Pam was born July 22, 1947, to Herb and Ida Ortman of Canistota, SD. She grew up in Canistota and graduated from College at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. In 1969 Pam was united in marriage to Gary Pletan. Pam and Gary lived in Clear Lake, SD, where they raised their children, Lane and Kara.
Although motherhood was Pam's most ardent career, she was a teacher and a business woman. She and Gary ran a successful furniture business in Clear Lake and eventually they owned and operated Pletan Furniture in Watertown, SD, with Gary's brother, Roger and his wife, Wanda.
Pam is remembered for her very kind heart. She was a huge Minnesota Twins fan and could often be found checking game scores on her phone. Pam always looked forward to playing a weekly game of Mahjong with her friends. She loved card games and often played Shanghai or golf with her kids and grandkids. Pam was also active in her church. Over the years she has taught Sunday school and led bible studies.
Pam, 75, passed away August 4th, 2022, in Rapid City, SD.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Lane (Michele) from Billings, MT; her daughter, Kara (Kyle) Munier from Livingston, MT; three special grandchildren, Tomiyah, Austin, and Braydon; three brothers, Wayne (Sally), Doug (Leann) and Don (Cherie). She greatly enjoyed time with her nieces and nephews and their children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her parents, and her brother, Terry.
