Obituary

Patsy Ann (Hardesty) Kentsler of Whitewood, SD, was called home to heaven November 2, 2014.

Patsy was born in Rapid City, SD, to George H. Hardesty and Genevieve G. Holmes July 14, 1939. Patsy grew up and attended school in Keystone, SD. Patsy enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, canning, gardening, crafts, and was a very active member of her church. In her younger years, she was a member of the Homestake Women's Auxiliary, Eagles Club, and Moose Club. She dedicated her life to helping others as a certified nurse's aide in Deadwood and Spearfish. She donated her time in retirement working in the food pantry in Whitewood. She also liked helping others in need. She was known by children in her neighborhood as "the sucker lady".

Proud to have been a part of her life are her three children, Shirley Pettit, Grand Junction, CO, Alice Doud, Mobridge, SD, and George Kidder (Michelle) Preeceville, Canada. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Ray, and Jim; sister, Bertha; and two infant sons.

A memorial has been established to The Lord's Kitchen in Whitewood.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Black Hills Baptist Church in Whitewood with Pastor Sean Donnelly officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Keystone Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, one hour prior to services at the church.
