Paul Glenn Baker was born in Sturgis, SD, December 8, 1947, to Glenn and Holly (Howie) Baker. In his younger years, he enjoyed high school wrestling, steer wrestling, 4-H, and loved driving his Cyclone. He attended both SDSU and BHSU before becoming a full time rancher.
He married Gloria Ann Weber of Dickinson, ND, September 20, 1974. They had four children; Andrew, Lesa, Sara, and Michael.
He built the family home with his father, Glenn. He loved participating in the barber shop quartet, woodworking, and was a 28-year member of the County Weed Board. He was an amazing short order breakfast cook for his family and he kept a detailed daily journal and enjoyed making people laugh. His passion was ranching. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Paul Baker, 68, of Centennial Prairie Ranch passed away on his ranch July 14, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons, Andrew Baker and Michael (Marta) Baker; daughters, Lesa (Eric) Jongeling, and their children, Sophia, Abby, and Elena,
and Sara (Zachary) Carter, and their children, Glenn, Garrett, Lindy, and Gunnar; sister, Myrna Clark
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Holly Baker.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish, SD, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish with Msg. Michael Woster officiating. Interment will follow at Whitewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul or St. Onge, SD 4-H.
