Pauline was born to John and Sarah Haller and was a graduate of Sioux City Central High School and earned a degree in business from National Business College. On Dec. 21, 1944, Pauline was married to Robert W. Meloy. Pauline enjoyed reading, writing letters and daily crossword puzzles.
She will be greatly missed by her three daughters, a sisters, and brother four grandchildren;.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Meloy; her parents, Sarah and John Haller; and her brother, John Haller Jr.
∼SIOUX CITY | Pauline Augusta Meloy, 94, formerly of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, in Rapid City, S.D.
A memorial service will be held in Sioux City later this spring.
Pauline was born on Oct. 6, 1921, in Sioux City. She graduated from Sioux City Central High School and earned a degree in business from National Business College.
On Dec. 21, 1944, Pauline married Robert W. Meloy. Their wedding night was spent on the train headed for Mare Island Naval Station in San Francisco, where Robert was stationed.
Pauline enjoyed reading, writing letters and doing daily crossword puzzles. She had a quick mind and friends and family called Pauline if they needed to laugh or have a good listener to talk to. She strove for excellence in whatever she did.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Josephine Keitges (Lawrence) of Surprise, Ariz., Molly Meloy Kelly (Barry) of Crowley, Texas, and Paula Meloy (Christopher Johnson) of Rapid City; sisters, Phyllis Bergstrom (Wallace) and Sally Oswald (Stanley); her brother, Thomas Haller (Mary Sue); numerous nieces and nephews; four grandchildren; and her best friend, Betty Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Meloy; her parents, Sarah and John Haller; and her brother, John Haller Jr.
