Pauline M.
Severin
Jan 16, 1944 — Dec 19, 2019
Presho
Pauline Marie Severin, the oldest daughter of Clayton and Alice (Bahm) Miller, was born January 16, 1944 in Roswell, New Mexico. She passed away December 19, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Pauline grew up and attended school in Gregory, South Dakota. After graduating high school, she met her lifelong love, Philip Severin. The two were united in marriage at the Gregory Congregational Church on August 26, 1962. They lived in the Presho, South Dakota area for the next 57 years enjoying fishing, gardening and singing. During that time she worked for Brost & Brost Law Office and the Presho Post Office. On April 17, 1985 she was selected as Post Master, a job she truly loved doing and which she retired from on March 1, 2007. Several members in the community stated that it was never a quick trip to the post office because Pauline loved to update them on her grandsons, Gabriel and Caleb in Alaska. After retirement, the couple enjoyed wintering in Arizona, traveling, playing cards with family and friends and most of all spending time with their grandsons.
Grateful for sharing her life are husband, Phil of Presho, SD; son, Terry and his wife, Billie-Jo; grandsons, Gabriel and Caleb of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Vickie (Paul) Sedivy of Valley, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Paul; parents; and sisters, Sandy and Robin.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pauline's celebration of life January 18 th , 2020 at the Presho United Methodist Church at 10:30 am with reception to follow.
