Pearl A. Douglas was born May 6, 1926, at Isabel, SD, to Ralph and Margaret (Sweeney) Douglas. They moved to Faith, SD, where Pearl worked as a cook. In 1978, they moved to Sturgis where she was the caregiver for her family and numerous friends.

Pearl, 86, Sturgis, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter, Julia Sandy, Sturgis; sister, Lorraine Williams, Rapid City; nieces, Vicki, Karen, Jane, Deann, Chris, and Margaret; nephews, Bob, Teddy, and Joe; sister-in-laws, Evelyn and Gladys Douglas; and special friend, Loretta Mason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and four sisters.

A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Regional Health Care Center.
