Pete was born in Sturgis, SD, to Pete W. and Helen Borup on April 24, 1944. He attended school in Sturgis, SD, and joined the Navy in 1964, serving in Vietnam.
Pete attended Black Hills State upon his return. He loved to travel and was adventurous. He lived in several states, but had to come back home to Sturgis after retiring.
Pete was a caring father, a loving brother, and he made friends wherever he went.
Pete W. Borup, 75, of Sturgis, went to the Lord on May 7, 2019.
He is survived by his daughters, Kady L. Borup (Max), and Kelsy Borup; grandson, Anthony; granddaughter, Natalie; Kady and Kelsy's mother, Fern C. Vinton; 3 sisters, Kathleen Morrell, Della Hall, and Donna Boner; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Helen Borup; a brother, Bobby; a sister, Belva; and brothers-in-law, Bernie Hall and Herb Morrell.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Chaplain Herb Cleveland officiating.
