Phillip "Phil" Lee Barnett, 68, passed away November 11, 2017 at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Phil was born on July 15, 1949 to Earl and Mabel (Barclay) Barnett in Hood River, OR. He graduated from Cascade Locks High School and joined the US Army in 1969.  He proudly served during the Vietnam Era until his honorable discharge in 1971.

He made his way to Camp Crook, SD in 1989 where he took a job with the US Forest Service. He met Irene Zegar in 1991 and they were married on May 22, 1992 in Buffalo.  Together the couple made their home in Buffalo, where they raised their family.

After working for Continental Resources for 15 years, Phil retired. In 2011, Phil and Irene moved to Summerset.  He loved old cars, car shows, and his beloved dog, Ru.  One of his greatest joys was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Phil leaves behind his wife, Irene, Summerset; sons, Jon Clevenger, Summerset, and Jeremy Clevenger, Rapid City; daughters, Justina  (Tom) Moffitt, Martin, and Angela Packard, Mollala, OR; brother, Gary Barnett, Portland, OR; sisters, Linda Barnett, Salem, OR, and Saundra Warlick, Tillamook, OR; adopted children, Tammi Lee Pedarza and David Allen Barnett, Sherman, TX; and grandchildren, Ace Hahn, Max Clevenger, Kingston Moffitt, Jaxyn Moffitt, Josephine Clevenger, Landyn Clevenger, Erica Sadilek, Amanda Sadilek, and Thomas Sadilek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mabel Barnett; and brothers, Norman and Spunk Barnett.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Black Hills Funeral Home with Chaplin (Ret.) Herbert B. Cleveland officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard.
