Phillip Ray Brockelman, 81, formerly of Rapid City, died Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Phillip was born April 29, 1926, at Salina, KS, to Clyde and Blanche (Lindenmuth) Brockelman. He grew up in Kansas.

Phillip enlisted in the US Navy and served until 1949. At that time, he joined the US Air Force where he served his country until his honorable discharge from Ellsworth Air Force Base in 1967. He has resided in Rapid City since.

He is survived by one son,two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Graveside rites with full military honors will be conducted Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
