Obituary

Booge was born November 28, 1931, at Cedar Canyon, SD, to Elmer A. and Lela Pearl (Bushong) Lemmel. He herded sheep for the McGuirers, mined copper at Butte, MT, and joined the United States Army.

Following his honorable discharge, he worked at the Homestake mine in Lead. Later, he worked for area ranchers in the Faith Country and also in Oregon and Idaho.

Booge married Kathryn "Tense" Short at Faith, SD, on June 20, 1957.

Booge worked for the City of Faith for six years. He also had his own electric business and carried mail along highway 34 for 14 years. He also trapped furs for extra income.

He always had dynamite on hand to blow up anything, from old cars to beaver dams, just to see how high and far things could fly. Booge had a very unique ability to give people nicknames and make up words that weren't in the dictionary.
