Phillip Lewis Zaugg, 37, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on September 13th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Phillip was born on September 24th, 1985, to Tracy Zaugg and Patricia Jacobsen in Cheyenne, WY.

He attended Stevens High School in Rapid City, SD, and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 2004. Soon after, he pursued a career in the food industry as a chef, working as an electrician's apprentice. Recently returned to his love, being a chef.

Phillip had a great sense of humor, either while hanging out chilling with friends and family, lengthy late night phone conversations with family and of course online gaming with friends and his son Ellroy.  He loved all things Batman and never missed an Atlanta Braves or Philadelphia Eagles Game. He loved fishing with Ellroy and spending time out on his deck chilling.

Phillip is survived by his son Ellroy Zaugg, parents, Tracy & Susan (M2) Zaugg, Patricia & Rick (D3) Jacobsen, and Lynn Bitterman (D2), maternal Grandfather Marlin Connelly, siblings Cynthia Laakso, Kimberly & David King,  Trevor & Miranda Bitterman, Allison & Colton Gammon, Thomas & Kayli Zaugg, his step siblings, Alexander Kessel, Zachary Kessel, Richard Jacobsen, and Lia Jacobsen, longtime girlfriend Christina Fischer and her children Zoey Fischer, Isabelle Fischer, Adalynn Fischer, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Phillip was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, half-brother and two uncles, and his maternal grandmother.

A memorial service will occur at a later date.
