IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis Lorraine
Grimshaw
January 9, 1924 – May 27, 2007
Phyllis was born near Platte, S.D., in 1924, to Bessie and Jay Rogers. She and Claude Grimshaw met in Oacoma, and were married in California, while Claude was in the U.S. Navy during WWII. The family lived in Oacoma after Claude returned from the Pacific Theater at the end of the war. Claude later traveled the world in his water well and earth drilling business. Phyllis accompanied him around the globe and visited such places as Australia, Africa, Taiwan and Japan. After Claude's death in the 1980s, Phyllis moved to Texas, where she was an integral part of her son Tom's family. She died peacefully on Sunday, May 27, in the presence of family members.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
