Phyllis B. Simons 3/27/24 ~ 4/28/12 Sturgis - Phyllis Bernadette (Werckman) Simons, 88 of Sturgis, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Sturgis Long Term Care Center. Phyllis was born in Pierre S.D. to William and Alice Werckman on March 27th, 1924. She was a gentle, loving, creative, dedicated, and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her. Her family was very important to her. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louie Simons of Sturgis; her children; Carol (Jim) Higgins, John Simons, Mark Simons, Shane (Vicki) Simons and James (Annette) Simons; her siblings, Billy Werckman, Alyce Jean Wagner, Jack Werckman, Nancy Wharton and Leann Ross; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bobby Werckman. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m on May 26th. 2012, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Father Christopher Hathaway officiating.
