Priscilla "Peggy" (Escott) McGinnis, 83, Sturgis, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her residence.

Peggy was born March 18, 1928, at Faith, SD, to Bert and Tena (Schradle) Escott. She attended school in Faith and graduated from high school in 1947. On September 6, 1947, she married Robert "Dugan" McGinnis. To this union five children were born. They lived in Faith, Riverdale, ND, Sturgis, and Port Orchard, WA. She moved back to Sturgis in 1971.

She is survived by her five children, Karen McGinnis of Texas, Barbara Ross of Port Orchard, WA, Bert (Kristin) McGinnis of Sturgis, Sheila McGinnis of Lander, WY and Sean McGinnis of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy Short of Sturgis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Mike, and his wife, Rose; a brother-in-law, Robert Short.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
