Randy Duane Christopherson, 67, passed away June 18, 2025, at Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Randy was born on April 12, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Myron (Chris) and Letha Loy (Tuck) Christopherson. He grew up and attended school in Mitchell, South Dakota. Randy married Patricia Durnin on August 12, 1978. The young couple was looking for a way out of Mitchell so Randy joined the US Navy. He would go on to serve 20+ years before his honorable discharge in 1998. During that time, they were stationed mainly on the west coast. Randy and Patricia welcomed sons, Elijah in 1982, Josh in 1984, and Jeremy completed the family in 1987.

Patricia and the boys moved to Spearfish in 1997 and Randy officially retired in 1998 and joined the rest of the family. Once in Spearfish he worked as a welder until he retired in 2023 for health reasons.

Randy leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Patricia; sons, Elijah (Brianna), Josh (Jessica), and Jeremy; grandchildren, Ayrianna, Collette, Preston, Layla, and Arthur Duane; father, Myron (Chris) Christopherson; and sister, Jeanne Reif.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Loy Christopherson; and brother, Todd Christopherson.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Black Hills National Cemetery. Following the conclusion of services, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the VFW in Spearfish.
