Randy J. Fredericksen, 73, Lead, SD, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Lead-Deadwood Monument Hospital, Deadwood, SD.

Visitation for Randy will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral Services for Randy will be at 2:00 PM, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Randy was born December 21, 1950, at Deadwood, to Dwayne and Hilda (Heinrich) Fredericksen.  He was raised in Deadwood, where he attended school graduating from Deadwood High School in 1970.  Soon after graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving his tour of duty in Germany.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to the Northern Black Hills.  Randy married Debbie Dyke on December 3, 1976.

Randy worked various jobs through the years, working for the City of Deadwood, Homestake Mining Co., City of Whitewood and retiring from the Celebrity Hotel

In his spare time Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes, playing softball, and he especially loved skiing.  He also enjoyed following his kid's activities and especially his grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include his wife: Debbie, Lead; children: Amanda (Rick) Sargent, Lead, Billie Jo (Blake) Fredericksen, Lead, Robert (Stephanie) Fredericksen, Lead, and Lucas (Amanda) Fredericksen, Spearfish; grandchildren: Kaitlin, Taylor, Kyle, Madison, Janie, Dalilah, Elliott, Asher, Lettie, and Remi; great-grandchildren: Liam, and Dawson; siblings: Debbie (Mickey) Dennis, David (Claudia) Fredericksen, Tom (Lori) Fredericksen, Todd (Tricia) Fredericksen, and Ryan (Lori) Fredericksen.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Dwayne and Hilda Fredericksen.
