Obituary

Rawleigh was born April 11, 1937 at Benkelman, NE, to Harry and Viola (Ocker) Brennick. He moved to Hastings as a small child where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Hastings College with a degree in Business Administration.

Rawleigh served in the US Army during the Cold War. He was recalled during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Rawleigh married Mryna Willerton on June 5, 1960 at North Platte, NE.

Rawleigh was in the active reserves and was called back to the Army after their marriage.

Rawleigh served his country honorably and after his discharge he worked for the Sherwin Williams Company in Yankton. Later, he was hired by the Yankton Savings And Loan Association where he worked for the next 26 years. He returned to his home shop where he hired out as a machinist, welder, fabricator and production manager for local companies and individuals. In his spare time he enjoyed farming, the fine arts, politics, hunting, good dogs and fishing and most importantly spending time with his family.

He enjoyed re storing antique cars and had a collection of Hudson automobiles.

Rawleigh was a lifelong member of the NRA, and former member of local civic organizations. He was a lifelong member of the Republican Party and couldn't spell Democrat, although, he always appreciated their friendship and humor.

Rawleigh Edwin Brennick, 71, Yankton, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at his home in Yankton.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Christ Church, Episcopal in Yankton with Father James Pearson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Silver City Cemetery near Silver City, South Dakota.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna Brennick, Yankton; one son, Randy (Kam) Brennick, Sturgis, SD; one daughter, Jennifer (Gregg) Piehl, Rogers, MN; also four grandchildren, Abbey and Logan Brennick and Elizabeth and Andrew Piehl.

Survivors also include several cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials have been established to Avera Sacred Heart Hospice, Lewis and Clark Boy Scout Camp, Kaleidoscope Charter School of Otsego Minn.
