Obituary

Ray E. Anderson, 55, Sturgis, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his residence in Sturgis.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to Alcoholics Anonymous.

Ray was born May 17, 1958 at Frankfurt, Germany, to Richard B. and Marie (Klotz) Anderson. As the son of a career father in the military, Ray moved from post to post. He started school in Germany and graduated high school in Mitchell, SD. He attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion and Black Hills State in Spearfish.

Ray married Wendy Keyser at Sturgis in 1987. The couple moved to Cheyenne where Ray earned his degree in radiography.

Ray worked at the Sturgis Hospital for several years. He also worked 15 years for Indian Health Services in Eagle Butte. He transferred to Deadwood Hospital and retired after a disability.

Ray enjoyed hiking in the Black Hills woodworking and stamp collecting. He was also a good Grandpa.

Survivors include his son, Spencer Anderson, Sturgis; daughter, Lorrae (Trenton) Aker, Summerset; parents, Richard and Marie Anderson, Spearfish; brother, Steve (Sandra) Anderson, Richmond, KY; also three grandchildren, Brookelyn, Kielyn, Talyn.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
