Obituary

Ray Clayton Hlousek, 88, Belle Fourche, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Crook County Medical Services District Nursing Home in Sundance, WY.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Kenny Riley officiating. Burial with military honors by the Belle Fourche Honor Guard follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Ray was born May18, 1920 at Sturgis, SD, to Frank and Jennie (Bedner) Hlousek. He was raised at Hereford, SD and moved to Spearfish in 1930. He graduated from Spearfish High School in 1938.

Ray served in the US Army for 3 and a half years during WWII.

He worked for U&I Sugar until his retirement.

Survivors include his son Craig Hlousek, Boise, ID; brother Vincent Hlousek, Belle Fourche; three sisters, Ella Meyer, Orangevale, CA, Laurine Lamb, North Highlands, CA, Winifred Richardson, Chico, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, LaVerne and Jerry, two sisters, Clarice Todd and Erma Babcock.
