Raymond D. Nicholau, 67, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Rapid City.

He was born February 27, 1953 in Antioch, California to Nick and Neva (Johnson) Nicholau. After high school he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served as an Air Force Security policeman for 20 years.

Raymond loved baseball, fishing, bowling, and rock and roll music! He also had a creative side and was a talented sketch artist and he enjoyed working on model airplanes and cars.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 47 years, Dadreon; daughter, Neva G. Avery; three grandsons; and sister, Deborah Nicholau.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Nick C. Nicholau; and his mother, Neva M. Nicholau.

Graveside services were held Monday, September 28, 2020 at Black Hills National Cemetery. Military honors were rendered by the Ellsworth AFB Honor Guard and the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard.
