Renate James, 68, Piedmont, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at her home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont with Pastor Steve Trefz officiating. Burial follows at the Piedmont Cemetery.
Renate was born June 26, 1938 at Heidleberg, Germany to Oskar and Kathe Boehler. At the age of 19 she met the love of her life, Jackie James, married him and moved to the United States and fulfilled a wonderful life. Renate was an exceptional truck driver, but spent most of her adult life as a loving wife, a wonderful mother and the best Oma anyone could ever have! Renate was the Post 311 American Legion Auxiliary President and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, Friday nights at Bingo, and occasionally gambling in Deadwood.
Survivors include her husband Jackie James, Piedmont; daughters, Rebecca Schuster and Joanne Hammons, both of Piedmont; grandchildren, Mickey Barth, Rapid City, Jacquelyn Woidt, San Clemente, CA, Kristofer James, Damien Schuster, Jesse Schuster, Hayden Schuster, Isabel Schuster, Jax Schuster, Dash Schuster, all of Piedmont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother, and her first-born daughter, Josi.
