Richard Lewis Burnezky, 83, of Nemo, passed away on Tuesday June 5th, 2012 at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Fort Meade. He was born October 6th, 1928 in Washington DC, son of Nick and Lillian Burnezky the oldest of 9 children; two brothers and six sisters. Like his father he joined the military when he was 17. He served in the Navy for 3 years and then the reserves for 3 years. Richard and Patricia Moon were married and had 3 sons, Richard, Robert, and Charles. Richard and Rosemary Meyer have been life partners since 1979. Survivors include his life partner, Rosemary Meyer, Nemo; three sons, Robert Burnezky, CA; Charles Burnezky, NY and Derrick Meyer, CA; two daughters, Deborah Meyer, Nemo and Kimberly Cook, NY and his youngest sister, Pat Jones, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and one son. Memorial services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Chaplain E. Rene' Porter-Stewart officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place immediately following the service at the Nemo Fire Hall in Nemo, South Dakota.
