Richard was born to Benjamin and Lessie (Smith) Copeland on February 23, 1937 in Cheneville, LA.

Richard served in the Air Force for 22 years. He loved to read in his spare time and listening to his favorite artist Patsy Cline.

Richard Travis Copeland died January 27, 2017 at Fort Meade Medical Center in Sturgis; SD.

He is survived by his 2 daughters Catherine Kuntz of Black Hawk, SD; Christine Anschutz of Midland, TX; son, Richard Copeland of Komo, TX; ex-wife Jennie Copeland , Bonner Springs, KS;7 grandchildren. Richard is proceded in death by his parents, sister and brother.

Graveside Services with military honors will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
