Richard F. Feiok, 93, Sturgis, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 12, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Sturgis with Rev. John Fries officiating. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Richard was born May 14, 1924, at Tripp, SD, to Dr. Richard and Helen (Herrbolt) Feiok. He grew up in Tripp.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1947. He served with the 3rd Engineer Combat Battalion in Kokura, Japan.
Richard returned to South Dakota and attended college. He graduated from South Dakota State College in Brookings in June 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Richard owned and operated many stores in Mobile, IA, Platte, SD, and Broadus, MT.
He married Mary Ellen Kowalke on November 2, 1952.
He was a member of Blessed Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Feiok, Sturgis; one son, Jeffrey (Pearl) Feiok; one grandson, Heath (Jamie) Feiok; four great-grandchildren, Owen, Jack, Penny, and Emily; niece, Luanne (Dan) Head; and brother-in-law, Robert Kowalke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vesta Kuipers and Geneva Schwantes; and one granddaughter, Heather.
A memorial has been established to Blessed Emmanuel Church.
