Payette, Idaho - Richard Jacob Kapp was born on May 22 ^nd , 1931 to Jacob and Lydia Kapp in Dupree, South Dakota. In 1952 he married Velara Dellas Kranzler born on February 20 ^th , 1934 to Bernard and Lydia Kranzler in Ipswich, South Dakota. Very shortly after marriage he was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War.

They have two sons Duane Richard Kapp and Gary Lee Kapp. After his sons were born, they moved to Torrance California where he worked in Floor Covering until his retirement. Richard and Velara were grandparents and great grandparents.

Velara passed away on November 20 ^th , 2012 at the age of 78 and was cremated and will be buried with Richard who passed away on March 31 ^st , 2021 at the age of 89.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velara, his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Velara was preceded in death by her parents.

Richard is survived by three sisters and Velara is survived by one sister. Richard and Velara is survived by two sons, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 12, 2021 at Black Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Garlick officiating.  Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard and the United States Army.
