Obituary

Rita Eva Weber, 97, Sturgis, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9:00 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Fr. Arnold Kari officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.

Rita was born July 18, 1915, in Sturgis to John J. and Ella (Mallon) Keysor. She grew up on the family ranch on Alkali before moving to Fort Meade as a young girl. They moved to Sturgis where Rita graduated from Sturgis High School as class Valedictorian.

Rita married Pete Weber at Sturgis on September 2, 1935. They owned and operated the Sturgis City Dairy for many years. Rita was employed at Bear Butte Valley Bank until her retirement from First Western Bank as the operations officer. She enjoyed travelling, needlework, gardening, playing bridge, and reading. Rita was a huge fan of the Professional Bull Riders Tour and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to see the finals.

Survivors include her son, Jerry (Cleo) Weber, Sturgis; daughter, Carole Henrichsen, Sturgis; two grandchildren, Laura (Brandon) Caneva and Mary Weber; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Annika Caneva; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and six sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Martin's Chapel or the Sturgis Public Library.
