Mike was born July 12, 1949, at Port Angeles, WA, to Robert and Teresa (Jordan) Jones, and later on his name was legally changed to Robert Michael Branaugh. He lived throughout Montana most of his life. He grew up and attended school in Alzada, Ekalaka and Broadus, MT, where he graduated high school, attending college in Missoula, MT, and eventually settled in Billings, MT, where he spent many years counseling youth with mental health problems, and was last affiliated with Deaconess Hospital in Billings.

Mike is survived by all his friends that he considered as family at the Deconess Hospital in Billings, MT, especially Terry Smith, his buddies Tommy "J" and Randy. Together Mike and Teresa are survived by, Bob Thorne and family, Bill Thorne and family, Don (Sue) Thorne , Whitney Ponce and family all of Casper, WY; Lorie Dollison and family, Terry Miller and family all of Gillette, WY; Lee (Sonia) Fruit, Tracey (Peggy) Fruit and family all of Broadus, MT; Troy (Mikel) Fruit and family of Ekalaka, MT; Bim (Jody) Marston, Nathan (Katie) Marston all of Hardin, MT; Doug Marston Jr. of Ekalaka, MT; Sherry (Fats) Jardee of Ekalaka, MT; Ivan Jardee and family of Gillette, WY; the family of John (Blanche) Jordan of WA; sister, Jeanie Sneesby of Whitewood, SD; and her family Joddy (Pete) Tiemann of Reardon, WA; Suzan (Clay) Smith, Wesly Davis, both of Grass Valley, CA; and Jully Davis and their families.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur A. "Bill" Branaugh in 1969, his step-father Doug Marston in 1996, and his loving mother, Teresa (Jordan) Marston in 2002, nephew, Billy Ray Davis in 2014, and a brother-in-law, Marvin Sneesby in 2015, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

As per Mike's wishes there will no funeral services for him. However, his cremains, along with the cremains of his mother, Teresa, will be inurned beside his father, Wilbur A. "Bill" Branaugh, in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD.

Graveside services will be conducted at Belle Fourche, SD, on May 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery, which is located on the east side of Pine Slope Cemetery.
