Obituary

Robert was born December 15, 1939 to Robert and Margaret (Dadson) Ingersoll.

Jim was raised in Dearborn, Michigan. After high school he entered the Air Force as an Aviation Cadet. In 1960 he earned a commission as a second lieutenant and navigator wings. During his career he served with the Strategic Air Command, was assigned to Thailand and South Viet Nam during the Viet Nam war, flew the aircraft which provide air transportation to the president and other government officials, and was a staff office with the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He completed his career with the rank of lieutenant colonel.He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran having served with the United States Air Force. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Robert J Ingersoll died peacefully surrounded by family, August 29, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha, brothers Larry and Bill (Becky), children Kim (Rick), Susie (Tom), Bob (Alicia), Cathy (Bryan), 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 nephew.

Interment will be held at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Friday, September 2, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
