Robert Lewis Houser Sr., 73 passed away on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be 1-7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis, followed by a 7:00 p.m. wake/prayer service at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Fr. Andrzej Wyrostek as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Ellsworth Honor Guard. Robert Lewis Houser Sr., the son of Ralph and Martha Houser was born in Middletown, PA on April 17, 1933. Robert grew up in Middletown where he graduated High School and then enlisted into the US Air force. In 1956 Robert married Maria DeJesus Cerda in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was stationed at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, TX at the time. Robert retired in 1973 in Rapid City, SD after 25 years of service. He and his family lived in Rapid City for 15 years until he and his wife relocated to Sioux Fall, in 2002. Grateful for having shared his life are his loving wife Maria-Sioux Falls, children Frank Houser- Sioux Falls, Joseph Houser- El Paso,Texas, Robert L. Houser, Jr.- Sioux Falls, Anna Higgason;- Sioux Falls, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His daughter Mary Jane Huling and great granddaughter Kaya Huling preceded him in death.
