IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
M. Tobin
September 21, 1944 – September 30, 2025
Bob, 81 passed away on September 30th 2025, with his loving wife Barbara and nephew John by his side. Bob was born on September 21st 1944 in Medford, Massachusetts to Robert Beaton and Jean Mackenzie. He had two brothers Calvin Tobin (Carol)of Black Hawk, South Dakota and Donald De Bourguignon (Diane) of Rialto, California. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews which he loved. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served two tours in The Vietnam War as a Boatswain's Mate. He met his wife Barbara in 1969 and married in 1972. Bob and Barb moved from So. California to South Dakota in 1990, a year after he rode his Harley to the Sturgis Rally. He came home from Sturgis and told Barb, "We gotta move to Sturgis, it's beautiful", she said "OK". A year later they were here for the 50th Rally. Bob was a Master Mechanic and Guru of all things mechanical. He could repair any engine on anything from to any year Model A and other old vintage cars. He worked for Butler Caterpillar for many years as a mechanic and then painted Caterpillar machinery. After he retired, he worked on numerous vintage and antique vehicles. He had a good sense of humor and was very generous with his time and his knowledge about cars and life experiences. He was a good man and very well liked. He once said, "that when he died, a library was going to close" because of his vast knowledge of cars and motorcycles that he shared generously with others. His many hobbies included model airplane building and flying, building and riding hot rods, riding his Harley and playing guitar like Chet Atkins. When he was riding around Sturgis in his 1940 Ford, his 1951 Ford or Harley everyone knew who it was. Bob is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 52 ½ years. He will be missed not only by his loving wife and nephew John but also by his brother Calvin and his wife Carol and by so many, many friends.
Soul Searching
Rust spots and tarnish cleansers.
In the course of life your soul will get tarnished and stained.
Gradually, when you are ready to take your last breath the soul searcher "cleanser" removes any
tarnish or rust you have accumulated in your life span. Because you have to be pure to enter heaven.
We are connected to God through the soul.
